Our Education Sponsorship Program
Education is key to helping children in the developing world escape extreme poverty and to be able to support a family in a dignified way.
Seeds of Hope gives our children the skills and confidence to pursue post high school education and careers they would not even have the opportunity to apply for.
However, education and running a school is expensive whether it is in America, Canada, Africa or Asia. We have a program that will cover all the costs of running a school and giving our children the best education we can. Our education sponsorship program will cover the costs of books, equipment and resources, supplies, including music, art and sports supplies. It also covers teachers’ wages, janitorial, maintenance and utilities.
How is it possible to educate a child for $10 a month?
The answer is simple, the power of many standing together and combining our $10. Some might contribute twice that or triple that… it is up to each sponsor but we are asking for each to contribute at least $10.
Our High School goes all the way to Grade 12.
How much of the money goes to the actual education costs?
$9.30 goes directly to the educational costs and needs of the children. Only .70 cents of the sponsorship is used to offset banking fees, exchange rates and photo and update costs.
Sponsors can expect to receive regular updates every three months by email (Sponsors need to have an email address to receive updates). That is another way we will save money, by not sending out letters or photos, everything will be sent electronically. Sponsors will receive updates about news and events at Grace Academy, things like school plays, sporting events, concerts, academic achievements and awards, field trips and news about our students.

CanadaHelps secure online giving allows payments using either Visa, MasterCard, American Express or debit. Canada Helps also accepts your securities or mutual funds as a method to donate which saves you Capital Gains Tax. When you donate your securities directly through CanadaHelps, those capital gains aren’t subject to tax. This means Seeds of Hope Children’s Ministry receives a larger gift, and you’ll benefit from a tax receipt for the full value of your eligible securities or mutual funds.
