Twin brothers, Abishai and Stewart are 11 years old. They are double orphans, meaning both parents have passed. They lived with their elderly grandmother in Masala, but she was unable to care for them. They were brought to Grace Academy by Social Welfare in Fall 2023.

Born October 17, 2022, John is a bright three-year-old who arrived at Grace on July 11, 2025, alongside his sisters Dorothy and Kangwa. After facing heartbreaking challenges at home, John is now beginning a new chapter—surrounded by love, nourishment, and stability at Grace Academy. 💙✨

Born July 23, 2024, Miracle spent her early months in vulnerable circumstances. Despite her mother’s love, mental health challenges and lack of support left them living on the streets of Ndola. On March 11, 2025, Miracle was welcomed into the care of our Buseko Home, where she is now safe, cherished, and surrounded by the love and stability every child needs to thrive.

7-year-old Chimwemwe “Chichi” was born January 3, 2017. Both his parents have passed away, so he is a double orphan. His father passed in March 2020 and his mother January 2021.
After his parents passed away, Chimwemwe was living with his grandmother in Ibenga, Zambia. Sadly, she was unable to care for him and he was he was brought to Seeds of Hope through Social Welfare. He was welcomed into Grace with open arms on August 29, 2024.

Remember was born on April 27, 2020. He is a single orphan. After his mother passed away, he was left in the care of his father. But his father—unemployed and facing significant personal challenges and was unable tomeet even the most basic needs of a growing toddler. In April 2025, we welcomed Remember into our Buseko Home for children under the age of 5 at Grace Academy, where he is now safe, much-loved, and thriving.

Comfort was born in 2019, but day of birth is not yet known. 1 of 3 siblings, he is the middle child, and a single orphan who lived with his visually impaired 19-year-old brother. After the death of his mother, his father remarried and abandoned the children as he said they were cursed. This is because Comfort’s elder brother is visually impaired, and his younger brother has cerebral palsy.

Pang, was born in 2005, and is from Tak. Born with HIV, Pang’s life has been a series of hardships. Both her parents struggled with addiction, leaving Pang abandoned and homeless.
Prior to coming to Nuu Rain, Pang had no support system or guidance. We are glad she has joined our family where she is loved and receiving the care and direction care she needs to develop physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

Nim, born July 27, 1999, came to live at Nuu Rain in June 2021. Nim has been in care since she was a baby. She has no known living relatives.
Nim struggles with mental illness. Since coming to Nuu Rain, she has been taking her medication and is doing well.

5 year old Gam Boom lived in extremely poor and unsafe conditions. Her mother was a drug addict and her father left them. The director and a teacher at their school discovered Gam Boom and her sister’s devasting living situation and informed the police. Gam Boom and her sister now live in Rays of Hope home for girls called, Baan Isara, “The Freedom House.”

Birth date: April 9, 2016
Aom was nine years old when she found a safe haven at Baan Isara, our home for girls at the Rays of Hope site. Tragically, she grew up in an abusive environment, and due to struggles with a drug addiction, her mother is currently incarcerated and her father’s whereabouts is unknown. Despite these hardships, Aom now has the opportunity to heal and thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Kanlaya is 20 years old. She has a mental disability and is unable to care for herself. She was living in a homeless shelter before coming to Nuu Rain.
